Earlier this week, over 160 nurses, midwives and allied health professionals, gathered at Edge Hill University for the MWL 5 Star Patient Experience Conference, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
Chief Executive Rob Cooper formally opened the event, stressing the importance of making sure every patient receives the best possible experience throughout their time at the Trust. His message helped set the tone for the day, reminding everyone of the meaningful difference their work makes to patients and their loved ones.
As a learning organisation, MWL is passionate about nurturing the knowledge and skills of its staff, driving ongoing improvement in both clinical practice and patient experience. This event provided an invaluable opportunity for healthcare professionals from various disciplines and backgrounds to connect, share insights, and learn from each other’s experiences, fostering a culture of continuous development and excellence.
Chief Nursing Officer Sarah O’Brien reflected on the day’s success:
“As nurses, midwives and allied healthcare professionals we hold a unique and privileged role within the Trust.
“The way we treat patients, and their families leaves a lasting impression. It’s essential that we live by one of our core values, being kind, in all our interactions.
“This conference was a wonderful occasion to reflect on the many meaningful ways kindness and respect is demonstrated throughout the Trust, whether through innovative projects or simple, everyday acts of care and compassion. It’s these moments that truly enhance the patient experience.”
