MWL delivers promising results in its FIRST national NHS Staff Survey

The results of the national NHS staff survey, published today, have scored an impressive start for MWL.

Around 4,000 staff from across the organisation completed the national survey which is one of the largest workforce surveys in the world. It asks NHS staff in England about their experiences of working for their respective NHS organisations.

Staff at MWL rated the new organisation as the best acute Trust to receive care in the Northwest. Staff engagement and morale also ranked amongst the highest in the region with staff saying the Trust has a compassionate culture and is one of the best places to work in the NHS.

In total the Trust scored higher than the national average in 7 of the survey’s 8 themes.

Trust Chief Executive, Ann Marr OBE said,

“This is an incredibly positive start for Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Every day our staff make a difference to people’s lives, and it is important that we provide the best possible workplace for them to deliver the highest standards of care.

“It’s a challenging time in the NHS and our staff have been through many changes in the past year.  I am incredibly proud to see that they feel listened to, supported and recognised. Our success is all down to them and we will act on their feedback to continue to innovate and improve MWL - making our Trust even better in the years to come.”
