The Endoscopy Service at St Helens and Whiston hospitals has been officially awarded JAG accreditation (Joint Advisory Group on Gastrointestinal Endoscopy) by the Royal College of Physicians - a nationally recognised benchmark of excellence in endoscopy care.

The accreditation follows a detailed and rigorous assessment of the service’s quality, safety and patient experience. Reviewers highlighted the team’s strong clinical standards, well‑designed patient pathways and a clear commitment to continuous improvement.

Teams from across multiple disciplines contributed to the achievement, reflecting a shared focus on delivering high‑quality, safe, timely and effective care for patients.

Leaders at the Trust praised the dedication of colleagues who have worked tirelessly to enhance the service and ensure patients receive the best possible experience.

This accreditation marks an important milestone for the organisation, which continues to strengthen service quality and improve patient outcomes across all areas of care.
