MWL has been named one of the most improved Trusts in the country, climbing 27 places in the latest national NHS performance rankings.
The Trust is now the fourth most improved acute trust nationally and the most improved in Cheshire, Merseyside and Lancashire, reflecting progress across a range of key areas during a period of sustained pressure on NHS services.
The rankings are published as part of NHS England’s Oversight Framework, which compares trusts across measures including waiting times, access to care and financial performance.
In the most recent quarterly update published this week, MWL delivered one of the largest improvements seen across England.
Rob Cooper, Chief Executive at MWL, said:
“This is a really positive step forward for the Trust and something we should feel proud of. It reflects the hard work, commitment and teamwork of colleagues right across our organisation, often in very challenging circumstances. Our teams continue to go above and beyond for patients every day, and this progress is a direct result of that dedication. We know there is more to do, and we remain focused on reducing waits, improving access to care and delivering the best possible experience for our patients and communities.
“The Trust’s improvement reflects sustained work to enhance patient flow, increase capacity and ensure people are seen more quickly, alongside a continued focus on delivering safe, high-quality care. While the national league tables provide a snapshot of performance, MWL emphasises that ongoing improvement remains its priority as it continues to respond to demand and support patient care across its hospitals and community services.”
